> Autodesk® Civil 3D
Autodesk® Civil 3D® 2007 software is a powerful, mature, civil engineering application
designed to significantly increase productivity, save time, and decrease costs. It uses an
industry-proven dynamic engineering model that maintains intelligent object relationships.
A change made in one place instantly updates your entire project, helping you complete
transportation, site, sewer, storm drain, and subdivision projects faster and more
accurately. All team members work from the same consistent, up-to-date model, so they
stay synchronized throughout all project phases, including survey, design, drafting,
reporting, analysis, and visualization. Enhanced consulting, training, third-party developer
products, and application development tools form a powerful enterprise civil engineering
solution.
Features:
3D dynamic Engineering Model
Autodesk Civil 3D 2007's object oriented architecture
defines each point, surface, alignment, grading, section,
profile, and corridor model as an intelligent object
that can have an interdependent relationship with other
objects in the model.
Road and Corridor Modeling
Use Autodesk Civil 3D 2007's new corridor modeling capability
to complete all types of road, rail, and channel design
projects more efficiently. This modeling approach
is easy enough for all engineers and technicians to
use, yet powerful enough to handle the most complex
projects.
Corridor Assemblies and Subassemblies
Corridor modeling uses assemblies to build a design
model. These assemblies contain a collection of
connected subassemblies that represent real world design
components such as travel lanes, sidewalks, ditches,
curbs, and retention walls. Edit your design at
a single station or between a range of stations.
Edit your design more efficiently with Corridor Properties
user interface enhancements. Compute volumes from
the subassembly shapes, and use enhanced Land XML reporting
capabilities for corridor output.
Alignment
The alignment object includes tangent, curve, and
spiral elements and enables you to add any labeling
you want for finished drafting. Editing with a
tabular editor or graphical interface automatically
updates the alignment's labeling. Create Bloss
Spiral in alignment layout and design. Use design
speeds when calculating super elevation values along
an alignment. Customize speed tables using an
open schema.
Alignment Constraints
Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 introduces alignment layout
tools that enable you to specify design constraints
within the alignment.
Profiles
Extract profiles of multiple surfaces based on alignment
geometry. The software automatically creates the
profile appearance and annotation based on the styles
that you select. Any changes to the horizontal
alignment cause updates to the profile and all labels.
Superimpose a corridor feature line onto a profile view.
User the PLINEGEN variable to set display of profile
linetypes. Create a buffer on the left and right
side of the profile view to incorporate vertical design
that begins and ends before and after the existing ground
stationing.
Finished Ground Design
Use the layout tools in Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 to
design the proposed vertical geometry for an alignment.
Automatically draw vertical curves based on predefined
curve parameters. Refine your design by editing
values in the tabular editor or by graphically editing
location points on the proposed vertical alignment.
Superimpose Profiles
Superimpose the vertical geometry from any other profile
in your drawing onto any other profile.
Plotted Cross Sections
Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 includes tools to extract surface
and corridor model sections along a road centerline.
Generate section plot sheets based on styles that include
annotation appearance, scale, layout, and so forth.
Any changes to the road geometry update the section
sheets.
Grading Groups
Group grading objects so they behave as one, unified
grading scheme. Any changes to features objects
or grading criteria create changes to related grading
projections.
Intersections Between Grading Objects
Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 configures grading objects
to clean up intersection slopes. This cleanup
occurs in a single object and between grading projections
on neighboring objects.
Grading
Use powerful new grading capabilities to design
even the most complex scenarios. Build one grading
element off another to create stepped slopes or complex
grading combinations. Grade into neighboring grading
objects. Create surface models from a grading
"group" to build a comprehensive finish surface.
Paste the grading objects directly into a selected surface
Labels
and Tables
Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 generates labels based on
styles that control the content and appearance of the
label. The software derives label data directly
from the object that is labeled and dynamically updates
labels based on changes to the labeled objects.
Label
Display
Labels automatically respond to changes in drawing
scale and view orientation - even when used as xrefs.
Surfaces
Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 builds surfaces incrementally.
The software updates the surface when you add data or
edit the surface, and rebuilds the surface when you
remove data. Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 also includes
a variety of analysis functions, such as thematic displays,
watershed delineation, surface volumes, and surface
smoothing. Improve analysis capabilities with new Waterdrop
utility. Preserve the edge of 3D faces when adding
them as surface data. User corridor feature lines
as breakline data.
Contours
Contours the contours labels combine to represent
a surface. Any change to the surface updates the
contours. Labels also update automatically.
Points
Create points using a variety of coordinate geometry
(COGO) and graphical methods for creating points.
The software incorporates points as part of the engineering
model, for use throughout the analysis and design process.
Add user-defined attributes to points and create AutoCAD
blocks from Civil points.
Pipe
Layout
Layout sanitary and storm drainage systems as dynamic,
interactive networks and edit structures and pipes--which
are completely integrated with the Civil 3D model--using
graphical and numeric input.
Pipe
Drafting
Plot and complete final drafting of the pipe network
in plan, profile, and section views and annotate pipes
and structures in plan and profile views.
Pipe
Analysis
Share pipe network information, such as material
and size, with analysis software.
