Drawing its inspiration from the surrounding context of warehouse loading docks and concrete and steel of Portland's Pearl District, THE LOVEJOY contributes 231 market-rate apartments to the neighborhood, most of them contained in 13 tower levels that rise above a three-story base with parking and retail.
The LOTT Alliance project is targeting LEED Platinum certification and is part of a significant urban revitalization effort in the East Bay area of Olympia, WA, which will include the Hands On Children's Museum and the East Bay Civic Plaza. Construction is anticipated to start in summer 2008.

With an annual budget of more than $294 million and a 2009 construction budget of $75 million, Snohomish County Public Works is the largest department in the government of Snohomish County, WA. Working from a central campus and 10 outlying sites, the agency's 670 employees perform a variety of services, including road maintenance, traffic engineering, and surface water management.

Scope of work included demo of existing parking lot and paving, grading site for new aparments, building foundation excavation, storm drainage and utilities.
Brent Kerr says, "We had another brand of GPS for five years. The problem we had with it was the durability of the equipment. We couldn't keep the gear going. It was a cable, it was this, it was that. Everyone just wanted to wad it up...and out the window. We knew that it would pay off - we just had to find a more durable product...Now we're using Topcon on even our small jobs - like the 3-acre downtown Pettigrove project."
Scope of work included earthwork, utilities, storm drainage and paving.
Bill Lulay, Professional Engineer & Land Surveyor, commented Topcon's HiPer Lite survey system: "It's really worked out well for us. One guy can do what two guys used to do. Last year we had a site with a 50-foot grade change from top to bottom and obstructions that a conventional gun couldn't see through. The HiPer Lite worked slick as a whistle for us."
